The Advent of Orbital Technology
Packing machines boasting orbital technology wrap small to enormous, oddly shaped loads in record time. With this technology, the machine encases loads in a secure shrink wrap cocoon, bonding the pallet beneath to the load on top of it.
Here’s how it works. Using a forklift loaded with a pallet, the operator positions the pallet laden with cargo into the orbital packaging machine’s large, open cylinder. The operator secures the machine’s shrink wrap feed to the pallet and starts the machine at the touch of a button.
The machine’s wrapping cylinder spins around the entire load, including the pallet, applying shrink wrap along a vertical axis. As the operator slowly backs the forklift up, the entire load becomes enmeshed tightly in shrink wrap. The whole process takes roughly 60 seconds, no matter the size of the load.
Safety and Savings
Automatic packaging machines offer the convenience of safe, easy operation. Corded and wireless activation devices serve as emergency stops. Forklift pockets at the base of the machine let operators move the entire machine quickly and safely.
Plus, the process of wrapping loaded pallets along a vertical axis and bonding them to the pallet beneath results in a cohesive, congealed load that never tips during shipping, significantly reducing if not cutting out the possibility of freight damage claims.
