When children get ready to go to kindergarten, it can be a scary time as they won’t be at home during the day and will have a schedule to follow. However, there are some ways that you can prepare your child so that they are as ready as possible.
Staff
Take your child to a Beverly kindergarten class to meet the teachers as well as the rest of the staff in the school. If they get to talk to their teachers and learn about their demeanor and how they talk to the children, then they can recognize a familiar face when they get to school on the first day. Let your child meet the cafeteria workers, the principal, and any staff who will offer special classes during the day, like music or art.
Routines
While at home, practice a few of the routines that your child might encounter at school. Get up in the morning so that you can get ready and fix breakfast. Prepare lunch so that your child can see how to behave in the cafeteria. You can also set up an area that looks like a classroom so that your child can see how to sit with the other children and what they might have to do in the way of the topics that they learn.
Shopping
Before going to a Beverly kindergarten class, take your child shopping so that they start the year off right. Let your child pick out the bookbag that they like as well as a few outfits for the first week of school. If they participate in the adventure, then they might feel more comfortable.
