If you answered this in the negative; my opinion would be to disbelieve you. When it gets down to the nitty-gritty; the smokers of traditional tobacco products will usually answer the – – “Why do you smoke?” question with words that basically say – “Because I like it and I enjoy doing it”. Cigar smokers might just say that the thing that they enjoy the most about smoking a good, premium cigar is the flavor of the tobacco smoke and its aroma.
But, the vaper who tries to tell me that he is so afraid, of the reported health issues associated with tobacco, that he had no choice but to switch over to e-cigs – sorry; but, as a vaper of some years standing; I simply will not believe him. I do not believe that I am alone in this opinion; amongst the group that I socialize with, most of us vape when we meet up for a chat over a few beers; all of us were (and some still are) confirmed smokers and, yes, e-cigs got their introduction to our group when one guy had to stop his tobacco habit; we all saw his alternative and, one by one, we all got a kit and tried it out for ourselves.
Initially, our daily tobacco consumption hardly changed. However, a couple of weeks into this” new thing”, we found that tobacco use was declining and our consumption of e-liquids was increasing. Our deduction was that, at first, we were Choosing Our Flavors And Nicotine Strengths somewhat randomly and were learning the finer points on voltage control for good e-cig use. As we progressed through that learning curve we noted how we had each developed our own favorites amongst the flavors and we were widely separated in our nicotine strength selections.
We had Become Hooked
BUT – not in any bad way. We had reached a point where we could now say – “I vape because I enjoy doing so”. Unanimously, we decided that the factor that most contributed to this new found vaping satisfaction was the taste; the taste that derives from the selection of flavors that we had chosen to have added (or mix in for ourselves) to the basic e-liquid.
