Reasons Why Investing in Maui Real Estate is a Good Idea

by | Mar 13, 2015 | Real Estate

The thought of living in Maui is something many people consider a farfetched idea. Most people don’t look into Maui real estate beyond rentals because they consider Hawaii to be more of a vacationing spot than a place to live. This is largely because people consider Maui to be an expensive place to live; it really isn’t.

Everything Is Within Walking Distance

As you are looking for real estate to purchase in Maui, you have to look at what is around the places you are thinking about buying. See something interesting? That’s right! Everything is within walking distance. The gas in Maui does tend to be a little on the expensive side, but you are not going to buy very much gas because everything tends to be within walking distance.

Don’t Waste Money on a Gym Membership

There are gyms if you really want a gym membership, but there is no reason to invest in one if you are just looking for a place to be active and work out. It is warm in Maui almost all-year round. You can get outside and enjoy outdoor activities here more than you could anywhere else. As you are looking at real estate, you don’t have to worry about an extra room for your treadmill because you can enjoy going for a nice run on the beach instead. Doesn’t that sound like more fun?

You Don’t Have to Pay for Your Health Insurance

Thanks to the Hawaii Prepaid Health Care Act, employers are required to give employees health care benefits if they work more than 20 hours a week for four or more weeks in a row. Naturally, this does not apply to your family or anyone who does not have a job. But, a large portion of people in Maui have a job and don’t have to pay for insurance for this reason.

Food Is Only Expensive if You Eat Out

The only reason why eating in Maui would be expensive is if you eat out all the time. If you, on the other hand, go to a supermarket and buy yourself some food to cook at home, you are not going to have this problem.

You also have the option of planting and growing your own food. Mangos, avocados, and bananas can all be grown from the convenient of your own backyard.

Maui does not have to be a crazy expensive place to live. It is all about the choices to make when it comes to how fast you spend the money. You don’t have to be rich to live here. The real estate might be a little more costly, but you are going to love living in Maui.
