What is the Arizona Lemon Law?

by | Feb 20, 2017 | Lawyer

While citizens of the United States are protected on a federal level against buying a car that is a lemon and just being stuck with it, every state in America has their own unique lemon laws as well. The Arizona Lemon Law protects the residents of their state from owning a lemon, once they have been able to prove that the car they have purchased is indeed a lemon and can’t be fixed.

When is it Time to Request a Refund?

Under the Arizona Lemon Law, once you have tried to have a car, van, or truck fixed during the first two years of ownership and the repeated attempts have failed, you can request a refund or replacement. Another way is if the vehicle has reached 24,000 miles instead. In other words, under the lemon law in Arizona, it’s required that you give the dealer at least four attempts at fixing the problems with the car or have your car sitting undrivable for at least 30 days. After this period and that many attempts to repair the car, you can file for a refund or replacement.

When is it Time to Ask for a Lawyers Help?

Anytime that you have a car that has repeat problems that the company can’t seem to get fixed, it is best to contact a lawyer. The company that manufactured your car, not the company you bought it from is the one that will be taken to court to get you the refund or replacement you deserve. A lawyer can ensure that you are represented fairly.
